STAFF ACCOUNTANT

THIS ROLE IS ON-SITE IN LONG BEACH, CA. NO REMOTE OPTIONS AVAILABLE. Position Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to support daily accounting operations, assist with the month-end close process, and maintain accurate financial records in accordance with U.S. GAAP. This role provides an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in the financial operations of the organization and the accounting department. The ideal candidate will bring with them a strong background in a wide range of accounting duties. Responsibilities Proficiency in multi-company operations Knowledge and experience in Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable Support accounts payable processes including invoice review, coding, and vendor coordination Assist with account reconciliations, expense reporting, and transaction verification Evaluate and post customer deposits Update Daily Transaction Journals for all companies Assist Month-end close process, including account reconciliations and journal entries Reconcile Module Period End Reports to General Ledger Reconciliation of bank accounts and credit cards Manage accounts payable: process vendor invoices, ensure appropriate coding, and support timely payment execution Prepare and post accurate journal entries, including month-end accruals, prepaids, reclasses, and fixed asset transactions Review accounting data for discrepancies or inconsistencies Backup for payroll processing Support monthly and quarterly financial reporting activities Maintain spreadsheets, tracking systems, and finance-related administrative tools Assist with audit preparation and collection of supporting financial documentation Assist with maintaining the effectiveness of internal controls Help identify and implement improvements in internal processes, systems, and reporting workflows Assist with ad hoc analysis, process improvement initiatives, and other special projects assigned Skills and Experience BA/BS in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices High level of skill in MS Office Suite, especially Excel Experience with ERP software programs preferred Ability to collect, analyze and interpret data to support the team Ability to communicate effectively throughout the organization Ability to meet deadlines and complete projects in a timely manner Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent written and verbal skills Taurus Engineering, Inc. proudly offers a comprehensive benefits package to all regular full-time employees, which includes: Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance Group Life Insurance & AD&D (Accidental Death and Dismemberment) Voluntary Term Life Insurance & AD&D Paid Time Off (PTO) Paid Holidays 401(k) Retirement Plan (Company Match) Taurus Engineering, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
