Production Coordinator

The Production Coordinator assists and coordinates the day‑to‑day operations of production content, logistics and business operations to support a group of assigned shows and/or sport categories. This position is based out of ESPN’s world headquarters in Bristol, Connecticut. Responsibilities Assist with overseeing projects within assigned sports groups and show units (i.e., sales and graphics coordination, creative content management, etc.). Act as liaison for assigned sport/show categories between Production, other ESPN departments, and outside entities. Work in conjunction with Remote Operations and other ESPN departments to develop and manage logistics and infrastructure for on‑site events and telecasts. Coordinate with the Coordinating Producer to negotiate agreements for production services with external personnel, companies, vendors, and other entities in conjunction with ESPN Legal and/or Contract Management. Handle time‑sensitive materials and decisions. Plan, request, and allocate production facility needs of assigned sports/shows. Oversee scheduling of assigned personnel regarding event and show assignments, tracking personnel overtime and vacation time (in collaboration with the Production Manager or Senior Coordinator). Participate in recruiting, selecting, and scheduling Content Associates and Production Assistants for specific production groups and sport categories/show units. Train and guide staff—including Talent, Producers, Directors, Graphics/Playback Producers, Associate Directors, Associate Producers, Graphics Interface Coordinators, Statisticians, Content Associates, and Production Assistants—on the systematic processes of the assigned sport/show unit. Handle and relay sensitive information such as budgetary and fee‑related details. Organize and distribute show production elements and materials (e.g., sales, graphics, and promotional information). Provide objective feedback on performance to staff and remote personnel and share feedback as required. Track budgets and production‑related expenditures for assigned shows, sport groups, and special projects to ensure and improve fiscal responsibility. Ensure assigned productions meet established network creative and technical specifications, business objectives, and financial goals. Work from a short‑to‑mid‑term perspective against defined Production objectives, budgets, and schedules. Travel domestically and internationally for productions when required. Remain accessible during Production peak times and be willing to work non‑traditional days/hours. Required Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of production and/or operations experience. Working knowledge of the production of studio shows, remote events, and/or packaged shows and various production models. Strong organizational skills, including budgeting, time prioritization, accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to implement systematic processes and organize information flow. Strong communication skills—clear, concise communication, handling high‑volume email and phone traffic, and in‑person interactions. Ability to react quickly and positively under a wide variety of sensitive production situations that arise and change continually. Initiative in taking on tasks, suggesting and implementing ideas and solutions before problems occur. Experience in aspects of production management: processing contracts and invoices; creating, maintaining, and distributing production information; travel management; production personnel scheduling and staffing. Knowledge of operational and logistical aspects of production planning. Some financial management experience. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Office365, Outlook, Excel, Word, OneNote, PowerPoint) and Smartsheet. Preferred Qualifications Clear understanding of the roles required for the production of live events. Familiarity with new technological advancements in multimedia video production. Knowledgeable about the sports production landscape. Required Education High school diploma. Advanced computer skills including traditional Microsoft Office programs and other cloud‑based and shared platforms (Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, etc.). Preferred Education Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent coursework in Communications and Sports Management. Advanced working knowledge of systems/tools: Zoom (advanced), Smartsheet (advanced), Slack, NCS, ENPS, Playbook, Concur, Kronos, Autoflow Invoice Management, and SAP #ESPNMedia. Compensation & Benefits The hiring range for this position in Bristol, CT is $59,600.00 to $79,800.00 per year for a 40‑hour work week; hours may vary based on business needs. The base pay is determined by internal equity and may vary based on experience, geographic region, job knowledge, skills, and other factors.
