LVN Position
AKUA is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the state of CA. New graduates welcome to apply. Must have passed NCLEX. Mental health, detox/residential drug and alcohol treatment experience preferred.
Key responsibilities include:
- Working under the supervision of the Clinical Director
- Maintaining professional standards and following treatment policies
- Responsible for all medication as ordered by the Medical Director, Program Physician, and maintaining accurate accounting of all medication received and observed
- Responsible for the safekeeping of all medication stock and the records required by the DEA, FDA, JCAHO, and ADP
- Responsible for training all clinical staff about medications, observation of medications, and medication destruction
- Responsible for all detox assessments including CIWA, COWS, vitals, etc.
- Responsible for all medical documentation in the EMR including all physician notes and medication orders
- May be responsible for urine collection and processing in conjunction with the clinical technicians, reading test results as ordered by Program Physicians and the completion of all forms involved in these procedures
- Responsible for coordinating all internal and external medical and lab appointments
Qualifications and skills include:
- License/Credentials: LVN/LPN (required)
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification (Required)
- Valid CA Driver's License (Required)
- Current Health Screen (Required)
- TB Clearance (Required)
