The Substitute Teacher provides temporary instructional coverage in the absence of regular classroom teachers, ensuring continuity of curriculum delivery and a safe, structured learning environment.QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required Must meet Michigan Department of Education (MDE) requirements for substitute teachers: valid Michigan teaching certificate, OR completion of at least 60 credit hours from a regionally accredited college or university Satisfactory criminal background checkCORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Execute lesson plans left by the regular classroom teacher; maintain continuity of instruction Maintain classroom management and foster a positive, productive learning environment Take attendance and communicate with the main office as required Implement school policies and procedures; ensure student safety at all times Leave a brief summary for the regular teacher regarding classroom activities and any concernsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to perform the physical demands of the role, including lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, and standing for extended periods. Work environment includes elevated noise levels.
