Position: RN for the Med Surg Tele Oncology Unit Location: St. Luke’s Hospital - New Bedford, MA Hours: 36 hrs Shift: Evening/Night, 7:15pm – 7:15am with weekend and holiday rotation Responsibilities Under the direction of the Manager, Patient Services or designee of the assigned unit, perform a variety of duties involving coordinating total nursing care for patients, participating in patient and family teaching, and providing leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient care team personnel to maintain standards for professional nursing practice within an assigned patient care unit. Provide care appropriate to the age group of patients regularly served. The department is a 33-bed unit specializing in Oncology, Palliative Care and End of Life care. The unit hosts 11 semi-private and 11 private rooms. Maintain chemotherapy competency through the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) with chemotherapy-biotherapy administration certification. Telemetry monitoring for up to 10 patients. Work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent patient care. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or equivalent is required. Current RN Licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Three (3) months experience is preferred. Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Certification must be obtained within one year. Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID-19 virus or be eligible for exemption by signing a statement certifying exemption once hired.
