Accountant - Fuel Inventory

Sunoco LP is a growth company which operates within the following three business segments: Fuel Distribution: Largest independent fuel distributor in the U.S., distributing over 8 billion gallons of fuel a year across more than 33 states, including Hawaii. We distribute fuel to more than 7,300 retail locations and over 2,500 commercial customers Pipelines Systems: Network of over 14,000 miles of pipelines spanning 16 states, distributing crude oil, refined products, renewable fuels, ammonia, and specialty liquids T erminals: 113 fuel terminals in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Europe, and Mexico Summary Sunoco LP is looking for a Fuel Inventory Accountant to join our Operational Accounting team in Dallas, TX. We encourage a culture of inquiry by always asking why, transforming data into meaningful information, and leveraging technology to streamline our processes.If you are passionate about your work and thrive in a fast-paced and innovative environment, we’d love to hear from you Essential Duties and Responsibilities Manages a portfolio of inventory locations including Terminals, Barges, and Pipelines Resolves issues accurately and with a sense of urgency Responsible for a high-volume of accounting information moving between multiple systems Maintains productive relationships with all counterparties through proactive, effective communication Analyzes financial results effectively, providing supporting details and insights that contribute to the company's success Exhibits a record of sustained improvement in key metrics and contributes to the success of the overall team Key Attributes Consistently fulfills commitments, maintains transparency, and meets deadlines effectively Works well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, responding to change with professionalism and a positive solution-oriented attitude Significant level of personal accountability and ownership to identify and addresses issues with minimal oversight, and suggests innovative solutions for process improvement Embraces and adapts to changes with enthusiasm, contributing to a culture of innovation and efficiency Takes initiative to learn various systems and processes Exhibits a strong sense of ownership and resolves issues, including coordinating with other teams/functions as needed and communicates effectively Cultivates and maintains productive relationships with internal counterparts to enhance process improvements that are in the best interest of the company Navigates stressful situations professionally, aiming for optimal outcomes Accepts constructive feedback professionally and translates it into positive changes in behavior and performance Requirements Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below: Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel required Preferred qualifications: Experience with SAP, RightAngle, Power BI, Alteryx, or Robotic Process Automation tools is a plus Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level: The Associate Accountant/Analyst level requires a bachelor’s degree and 0-2 years of relevant job‑related experience The Accountant/Analyst level requires a bachelor’s degree and 2-5 years of relevant job‑related experience The Sr Accountant/Analyst level requires a bachelor’s degree and 5-8 years of relevant job‑related experience Working Conditions The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job: Usually, normal office working conditions Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
