TAARA Prevention Program Facilitator (Consultant)

Location: On-site at various school and community locations in Northern NJ and NYC Compensation: $450 per Assembly | $250 per In-School Session Organization: TAARA Position Type: Consultant / Contract Overview We are seeking a dynamic, trauma-informed, and engaging Prevention Program Facilitator to deliver the TAARA curriculum to students, educators, and parents/guardians. This role is critical in equipping youth with the tools to identify exploitation, build healthy boundaries, and foster resilience against trafficking and abuse. As a consultant, you will serve as the "face" of the prevention program, moving between large-scale school assemblies and intimate classroom settings to deliver life‑saving information with clarity and compassion. Key Responsibilities High-Impact Delivery: Facilitate large-scale school assemblies (up to $450/session) and smaller classroom-based sessions ($250/session) using the accredited TAARA curriculum. Subject Matter Expertise: Present complex topics, including human trafficking awareness, online safety, grooming tactics, and consent, in an age-appropriate and engaging manner. Engagement: Foster a safe, inclusive environment that encourages student participation and critical thinking. Stakeholder Collaboration: Coordinate with school administrators and counselors to ensure seamless program execution and proper follow-up for at‑risk students. Reporting: Provide brief post‑session summaries and feedback to the Program Manager to track impact and student engagement. Qualifications & Skills Experience: Proven experience in public speaking, teaching, or group facilitation (specifically with middle or high school populations). Background: A background in Social Work, Education, Criminal Justice, or Psychology is preferred. Trauma‑Informed Lens: Ability to discuss sensitive topics with empathy and professional boundaries. Communication: Exceptional verbal communication skills and the "stage presence" required to hold the attention of a large student body. Reliability: Must have the ability to manage a flexible, session‑based schedule. Requirements Must pass a comprehensive background check (required for working in school environments). Completion of TAARA-specific facilitator training. Ability to handle disclosures of abuse or trauma according to mandatory reporting laws and school protocols.
