Location 10500 Montgomery Rd, Montgomery, OH 45242 Work Schedule Full Time Days (72 hours bi-weekly) 7:00am – 7:30pm Every 3rd weekend rotation Holiday rotation The 6300 Medical‑Surgical Unit at TriHealth Bethesda North Hospital is a 41‑bed unit that specializes in the care of orthopedic, neurosurgery, and trauma patients. Our diverse patient population includes individuals recovering from total joint replacements such as knee, hip, and shoulder as well as those with hip fractures or requiring spinal surgery. This fast‑paced unit offers a supportive environment for role transition students, nursing students, and new graduates to thrive and grow, with a focus on teamwork, communication, and delivering high‑quality patient care. Nurses here have the opportunity to refine their skills in areas such as managing pre‑ and post‑operative care, pain management, patient mobility, and neurovascular assessments. Our team also handles orthopedic‑specific interventions, including the use of splints, Buck’s traction, skeletal traction, and specialized durable medical equipment (DME). Benefits page: Job Requirements Associate’s Degree or Diploma in Nursing. New hires required to obtain BSN within 5 years of hire. BLS/CPR (Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers). Registered Nurse. Knowledge, judgment, and skills derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences to meet complex health care needs at various stages of the life cycle. Preferred membership in related professional organization. RNs with more than 1 year full‑time or 2 years part‑time acute care experience. Preferred certification in specialty. Job Responsibilities Perform and document initial and ongoing patient/family assessments. Develop, communicate, and update individualized plans of care, including discharge planning. Provide safe, patient‑centered care that supports autonomy, dignity, and diversity. Recognize and respond to emergencies and take appropriate clinical action. Carry out physician orders accurately and in a timely manner. Complete assigned care and documentation within required timeframes. Administer medications/treatments safely and perform technical skills per policy. Evaluate patient responses and revise the plan of care in collaboration with the healthcare team. Supervise and delegate tasks appropriately to other team members. Serve as a clinical resource and support training/education of staff and students. Maintain current clinical knowledge and adhere to organizational and departmental standards. Function in relief charge/resource roles as requested.
