Carle Health is seeking a BE/BC Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Geriatric Medicine physician to join our established practice in Urbana, Illinois. Opportunity DetailsJoin four Geriatricians who support nursing home rounds, along with 7 APPs, and 3 full-time nursing staffPrimary responsibilities include overseeing patient care at area nursing homes in post acute care, long term care, and assisted living/memory carePlanned schedule is Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.Family Medicine or Internal Medicine candidates with significant Geriatrics experience or a Fellowship trained Geriatrician candidate are welcome to apply Hospital practice is not requiredWork in close collaboration with APP team to manage patients' needsPhysicians will be on call for their nursing home patients during the workday week as needed however APPs handle majority of callsPhysicians Rotate "MD Backup Call" between the 4 Geriatricians serving as a resource to APPs as needed for nights/weekendsService uses Electronic Medical Record which is also utilized by local area hospitalsPart-time positions availableOpportunity for academic and/or research affiliation with the Carle Illinois College of Medicine, the nation's first medical school focused at the intersection of healthcare and engineeringOpportunity to teach Internal Medicine residents with the Carle Internal Medicine Residency ProgramOptional opportunity to moonlight with Carle's urgent care for extra incomeAbout Our CommunityChampaign-Urbana has been defined as a micro-urban community, meaning we have many of the amenities of a much bigger city, with the feel of a smaller town. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
