Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery (Charlotte, NC). RTO after booking RTO after booking is NOT allowed and is NOT allowed to be worked out onsite. Any call offs or additional RTO on unit, could possibly turn into a Cancel and DNR. Required skills / certs / exp Minimum years of experience: 2 years to be comfortable working on this unit; preferably 3 years. Traveler experience: Unit will accept first‑time travelers. (But should have experience in large/high volume similar setting). Locals accepted / Rate difference: Yes. Skills: Circulate, sterile vaginal exam, competent in immediate newborn care. Certs: BCLS, AWHONN Intermediate, NRP. Job details Ratios: 2:1; average 20 births in 24 hrs and 30–40 admits, 40 visits/day, 20 rooms. Shift: 48 hours can be offered. If accepting 48 hours, NO OT until after 48 hours is billed. Unit will accept contracts 13–26 weeks. 12 hr nights: 18:45 – 07:15. May be required to precept/orient new staff members to the unit as needed. Float requirement: FLOAT REQUIRED AS NEEDED. Special maternity care high‑risk OB unit. Weekend requirement: Every other weekend minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6‑week schedule. Patient diagnoses Obstetrical patients 16 weeks and greater for all intrapartum and for high‑risk antepartum and postpartum care. We care for under 16 weeks high‑risk patients too on our high‑risk maternity unit. Special procedures / unit details Unit VERY FAST PACED, busier and higher acuity than might be normally expected. May not be realistic for nurses to take 48hr contracts on this unit due to how busy it is. Strongly prefer RN with circulate to OR experience. Unit systems PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR. Unit orientation 24.0 hours. Scrubs Scrubs provided (blue).
