Overview Energy Transfer is seeking a self-motivated and self-sufficient Buyer responsible for procuring goods and equipment essential to Energy Transfer operations. The Buyer sources material providers, negotiates pricing, and arranges purchases and delivery in accordance with Energy Transfer guidelines. Experience in procurement activities and knowledge of pipeline, compressor station, meter station, processing plant, and measurement materials is preferred. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide project material management services, including evaluation of material requisitions from internal clients, sourcing materials from inventory or suppliers, issuing Purchase Orders, and ensuring alignment with requisition specifications, ethics, and procurement guidelines. Maintain project tracking files and expediting reports; ensure materials meet specifications and obtain documentation such as Material Test Reports, Certified Test Reports, Proof of Delivery, and hydrostatic test documentation. Negotiate and legally bind the Corporation with suppliers for materials and services, including expediting for timely delivery, inspection, transportation, loading/unloading, and related costs, warranties, taxes, storage, and quality inspection. Assist as needed with corrective action plans for failed materials or late delivery. Coordinate material logistics, including staging and shipping/receiving information; provide leadership to procurement staff as needed. Provide project material price estimates and solicit pricing from vendors/manufacturers; develop commercial bid tab information for project management review. Manage multiple tasks with changing priorities and deadlines; demonstrate proficient organizational, oral, and written communication skills; interface effectively with internal clients and suppliers; work with minimal supervision. Qualifications 2–5 years of buying, pricing, and expediting experience within a purchasing division. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Strong working knowledge of pipeline materials, industry specifications, and procurement/supply chain management. Advanced knowledge of current market conditions, pricing, and sources of supply. Able to handle complex and confidential matters professionally. Ability to interface effectively with all levels of internal and external personnel. Preferred Qualifications MS Word, Excel, and Outlook; web-based programs. Familiar with SAPMM. Working Conditions The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters in performing the essential functions of this job: Usually normal office conditions. Must be able to remain stationary for a portion of time due to sitting or standing. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
