Junior Windows Systems AdministratorPatuxent River, MDSMX is looking for a highly motivated Systems Administrator with demonstrated experience to maintain various IT systems. This position will provide On-Site support at our customers location on Patuxent River NAS in southern Maryland.As the Junior Systems Administrator, you will join a team of highly driven, supportive, and skilled professionals engaged in supporting program management, technical, or business cases across the NAVAIR community.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesInstall, configure, and support an organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet systems, or a segment of a network systemAnalyze, test, troubleshoot, and evaluate existing IT systemsPerform maintenance to ensure IT Systems operate correctly with minimal interruptionOptimize the functionality and performance of hardware and software systemsImplement and maintain backup recovery plans and capabilitiesRespond to unexpected or unauthorized service interruptions and outagesDiagnose software and hardware failures to resolutionEnsure compliance with organizational policies, cybersecurity requirements, and configuration management processesTest operating system and software upgrades, patches, and hot fixesAdminister and maintain newly deployed hardware and software assets throughout their lifecycleAssist users with workstation setup, account provisioning, and access requestsAssist with the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of desktop, server, and peripheral equipmentMaintain system documentation, inventories, and configuration recordsRequired Skills & ExperienceClearance Required: Top SecretAt least one year of experience in system administration performing the functional duties of this positionCompTIA Security+ or another DoD 8570-compliant certificationKnowledge of system administration principles, theories, and conceptsExperience troubleshooting hardware, software, and user account issuesExperience supporting Windows workstations, servers, and peripheral devicesDesired Skills & ExperienceBachelor's degree in a technical disciplineExperience with Linux operating systemsExperience administering IT assets and configuration management processesExperience supporting end users in an enterprise environmentFamiliarity with backup and disaster recovery conceptsExperience in a DoD or NAVAIR environmentThe SMX salary determination process takes into account a number of factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories, relevant prior work experience, specific skills, education and certifications.
