Certified Athletic Trainer - Abbeville County, SCEmployment Type: Full-Time | Year-RoundPosition Overview: We are seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer to provide athletic training and sports medicine support at a public secondary school. This is a full-time, year-round position supporting high school athletic programs. The Athletic Trainer will work closely with student-athletes, coaches, school staff, physicians, parents, and sports medicine leadership. The position is supervised by the Director of Sports Medicine and Regional Supervisors.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide athletic training coverage for high school athletic programs.Assess, treat, and rehabilitate athletic injuries and make appropriate referrals when needed.Provide coverage for practices and home athletic events during the school sports seasons.Communicate with team physicians regarding student-athlete care and treatment plans.Work with coaching staff on sport-specific conditioning and injury prevention.Communicate with parents regarding the care and treatment of student-athletes.Review Emergency Action Plans with coaching staff.Coordinate daily athletic trainer activities with the Athletic Director and coaches.Schedule:Full-time, year-round position.Typical hours associated with athletic training in a public secondary school.No weekend coverage is required.There may be an opportunity for additional PRN coverage when the schedule allows.Start date is flexible.Benefits:Medical InsuranceDental InsuranceVision InsurancePTOSick Leave401(k) with Employer MatchPaid Federal HolidaysContinuing Education / CEU opportunitiesRequirementsBachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited Athletic Training program.New graduates are welcome to apply.Current Board of Certification (BOC) certification.South Carolina Athletic Training License, or eligibility for licensure.Candidates who are eligible but not yet licensed must obtain the license before beginning work.Current BLS/CPR certification in alignment with athletic training requirements.Current CPR, AED, and Emergency Cardiac Care certification as applicable.Personal vehicle for travel to the school and athletic events.Ability to successfully complete a background check.Facility & Patient PopulationSetting: Public Secondary High SchoolPopulation: Student-athletes from freshman through senior year, generally ages 14-18.
