Accountabilities:

As a Senior Staff Software Engineer, Client Architecture, you will serve as a technical leader responsible for defining scalable client architecture strategies and delivering high-impact consumer experiences. You will partner with cross-functional teams to modernize content creation workflows, improve platform performance, and establish engineering standards across web and mobile environments.

• Define and execute the long-term client architecture strategy supporting advanced content creation experiences, including video creation, editing, uploading, and future contribution formats.
• Lead the modernization of shared posting and commenting experiences across web, iOS, and Android platforms.
• Design scalable client-side systems that improve performance, reliability, and user engagement throughout the contribution journey.
• Solve complex technical challenges involving rendering performance, media processing pipelines, offline and online synchronization, and highly interactive user experiences.
• Partner with product, design, and engineering leaders to translate business objectives into technical roadmaps and architectural decisions.
• Influence cross-platform engineering standards by establishing reusable patterns, frameworks, and best practices.
• Mentor engineers and serve as a technical authority, providing guidance on architecture, implementation approaches, and engineering excellence.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate innovation, while maintaining strong technical judgment and ownership of final solutions.
• Drive alignment across multiple teams and stakeholders, balancing technical quality, scalability, business priorities, and delivery timelines.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a highly experienced software engineer with deep expertise in consumer-facing applications, client architecture, and large-scale technical leadership. You should have a proven ability to solve complex engineering challenges while influencing teams and driving strategic initiatives.

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, with demonstrated success as a Senior Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer, or equivalent technical leadership role.
• Extensive experience building consumer-facing web or mobile applications at significant scale.
• Deep expertise in modern web architecture, including React, TypeScript, advanced state management, and scalable frontend patterns.
• Strong understanding of native mobile development concepts, including iOS/Swift and Android/Kotlin ecosystems.
• Proven experience designing unified client architectures and establishing cross-platform engineering standards.
• Track record of solving complex client-side performance challenges, such as rich-text editing, media workflows, rendering optimization, or real-time synchronization.
• Ability to lead large, cross-functional engineering initiatives involving multiple teams and stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence senior technical leaders and explain complex concepts clearly.
• Experience making strategic tradeoffs between performance, reliability, scalability, and business impact.
• Passion for innovation, developer productivity, and using modern technologies to improve engineering workflows.
