Transmission Line Maintenance Manager

This position is responsible for managing all transmission line maintenance and blanket capital activities within the transmission grid. This includes providing leadership to direct reports and company and/or contract crews ensuring they are aware of and maintain safe work practices and procedures at all times.

Job duties include:

• Maintaining the safety culture for transmission line employees and contractors and ensuring a safe work environment exists for all assigned employees and contractors.
• Managing individual contributors, supervisors, including coaching, training, employee development, and effective resource management.
• Managing contract personnel for transmission line maintenance and inspection contractors, promoting good employee relations, morale and teamwork.
• Managing engineers that develop transmission line design packages, including calculations, drawings, standards, and engineering evaluations, for capital blanket projects.
• Ensuring work is performed in a team environment by interfacing with transmission engineering staff, transmission personnel, distribution personnel, generation plant personnel, major accounts representatives and other internal and external customers.
• Directing response personnel to address failures and emergency transmission outages.
• Ensuring 24 hour coverage is maintained at all times.
• Directing root cause analysis and ensuring the Consolidated Outage System (COS) is updated.
• Assisting Asset Management in development of the annual capital and O&M work plans.
• Managing the development and implementation of project schedules and ensuring they are completed on time, within budget and as designed.

Minimum requirements include:

• BS degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil) or equivalent work experience.
• 6 years of transmission related utility experience.
