Assembler

This role involves assembling mechanical and electrical components according to detailed work orders and engineering specifications in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing facility. You will use a variety of hand and power tools to build, inspect, and finish units to precise quality standards while following all safety procedures and contributing to an efficient production line.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety procedures and use required safety equipment in accordance with company policies and practices.
• Review work orders to understand product specifications, requirements, and sequence of operations.
• Visually inspect components and completed units during assembly to ensure quality, accuracy, and conformance to specifications.
• Select, position, and assemble parts in the correct sequence using tools such as drills, rivets, screws, braces, and tape.
• Install appropriate sub-assemblies and component parts in each unit based on design and engineering specifications.
• Apply wiring harnesses, sensors, and other electrical components in cabinets as specified in work instructions and diagrams.
• Operate a variety of tools including hand tools, drill, rivet gun, saw, hy-pot tester, hacksaw, drill press, and other production equipment as required.
• Complete all assembly processes in the specified sequence to maintain production flow and meet schedule requirements.
• Ensure completed units meet quality and performance standards before moving them to the next workstation or process.
• Perform cabinet foaming according to engineering specifications and standard operating procedures.
• Read and follow work instructions, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and standard operating procedures as required for each job.
• Use tape measures and other measuring devices to verify dimensions and proper fit of components.
• Support inspection activities by identifying defects, reporting issues, and making basic adjustments or corrections where appropriate.
• Maintain a clean and organized immediate work area on a daily basis to support safety and efficiency.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve assembly issues and support continuous improvement.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor to support production, maintenance, or related operations.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1–2 years of manufacturing experience with demonstrated product assembly.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively, including drills, rivet guns, saws, hacksaws, drill presses, and similar equipment.
• Basic computer skills or a strong willingness to learn computer-based systems and work instructions.
• Ability to read and follow work orders and standard operating procedures.
• Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with mechanical assemblies and components.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 35 pounds and handle bulky parts safely.
• Ability to stand, bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods during the shift.
• Attention to detail with the ability to visually inspect parts and assemblies for quality and accuracy.
• Ability to read and differentiate part numbers, labels, and work instructions.
• Willingness to work required overtime, including 5–10 additional hours when production needs increase.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to read, interpret, and follow wiring diagrams and blueprints as outlined in standard operating procedures.
• Experience with mechanical assembly in environments such as manufacturing, construction, installations, maintenance, auto repair, farm work, or furniture building.
• Familiarity with assembly line production environments and general labor tasks.
• Experience using tape measures and other measuring tools to verify dimensions and fit.
• Background in mechanical assembly, including working with wiring harnesses, sensors, and electrical components.
• Experience with inspection activities and identifying defects or nonconforming parts.
• Prior manufacturing experience is preferred, especially in production or assembly-focused roles.
• Comfort working from work instructions, blueprints, and written specifications.
• Demonstrated ability to learn new tools, equipment, and processes quickly.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to perform a variety of tasks to support the team.

Work Environment

This position is based in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing facility with a strong emphasis on safety, organization, and quality. The typical shift runs from approximately 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., with some schedules starting around 4:50 a.m., and overtime is required when production demands increase, which may add 5–10 hours in a week. You will work on or near an assembly line and use a variety of hand and power tools, including drills, rivet guns, saws, hacksaws, drill presses, hy-pot testers, and other production equipment. The role involves standing for most of the shift, as well as frequent bending, reaching, lifting up to 35 pounds, and handling bulky parts. You will follow detailed work instructions, blueprints, and wiring diagrams while collaborating closely with other team members in a structured, process-driven environment where cleanliness and daily housekeeping of your work area are expected.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ellenboro, WV.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.70/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
