Patron Membership and Giving Manager (Full-Time)

The Tampa Museum of Art (TMA) seeks a full-time Patron Membership and Giving Manager. This dynamic and dedicated individual will be responsible for stewarding existing relationships, rekindling dormant relationships, and fostering new and meaningful ones. This person will be responsible specifically for maintaining and growing the overall quantity of Patron Level Memberships as well as securing individual gifts to provide financial support for exhibitions, educational programs and scholarships, sponsorships of Signature Events, and the overall operations budget of the museum. Managing a portfolio of some of the museum’s most engaged donors, this person plays a critical role in contributing to the long‑term growth and success of the museum. The Development Office at TMA is a busy and fast‑paced environment. The Patron Membership and Giving Manager should expect to make dozens of calls each week and meet both personally and virtually with several donors. Qualified applicants should have a minimum of 7 years of successful experience soliciting and securing gifts up to $100,000, or the equivalent of 5‑7 years in B2B and/or B2C sales, to be considered. Applicants who have a mix of Development experience at the level mentioned above, in addition to formal sales experience is a plus. Proficiency in Raiser’s Edge is a plus. The work of a TMA Development Officer is a calling and mission to serve those who, were it not for our dedication, might never have the opportunity to visit a museum or experience art therapy-informed and outreach programming. Key Responsibilities Responsible for all aspects of implementing, managing, and overseeing the Museum’s Patron and Patron Affinity programs. Explore, identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with new and existing donors. Manage and implement a strategic plan to attract, retain, and upgrade Patrons who care deeply for the mission of the museum and our service to the Tampa Bay community. Write and/or edit content for the Museum’s website, specifically membership pages and other written publications pertaining to Patron Membership and Programming, to maintain and ensure accuracy and clarity in all. Help maintain a prominent social media presence on several platforms as it relates to Membership and Individual Giving. Able to execute social media campaigns and maintain a focus on web and electronic communications, ensuring consistency of information at all touch points. Collaborate with the Corporate and Foundation Relations Manager, Membership Development Specialist, Special Events Manager, and the Director of Development in identifying members and individuals who have an interest in supporting Exhibitions, Signature Events, the annual fund, educational outreach programs, and other fundraising campaigns. Create monthly reports to track activity, progress, effectiveness of efforts, and time management, as well as the status and trends of membership and development efforts. Work with the Director of Development to coordinate appreciation, recognition, post‑program or event reporting, and continued involvement or stewardship of each member, donor, or sponsor. Work with the Development Assistant to utilize the Raiser’s Edge database to maintain thorough records and preserve the philanthropic memory and history of the Museum. Must attend all Member and Patron events, as well as some volunteer committee meetings which occur both during the business day, and on evenings and weekends. Education & Technical Experience College degree or equivalent required. Familiar with donor databases and database management, ideally with experience in Raiser’s Edge. Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook required. Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop are beneficial. Technically savvy and able to learn new software programs as needed. Must work enthusiastically, respectfully, and professionally with a diverse group of audiences and possess a passion for helping people. A life‑long learner with a genuine interest in art and the museum’s mission. Physical Requirements Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time, and may occasionally perform light lifting, thirty (30) pounds or less, of printed materials and office supplies.
