Description: Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for the provision of patient care. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers. Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with mission and values. Performs direct patient care activities for all age groups to include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Monitors and coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort. Functions within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with established guidelines of nursing practice. Working conditions require standing and walking most of the time on duty. Meets unit-specific physical demands. Significant bending, stooping, lifting, and turning of patients with assistance may be required. May be required to work differing schedules or shifts according to patient care requirements. High-risk exposure to blood and body fluids exists. Physical demands include pushing, pulling, and gripping up to 50 lbs., pinching up to 15 lbs., kneeling, crouching, and crawling minimally. Utilizes the nursing process to provide care for patients post-trauma, surgical interventions, and medical comorbidities. Maintains professional accountability for the care provided. Evaluates the effectiveness of care provided by others. Coordinates patient care with various departments to ensure comprehensive support. Adheres to confidentiality and patient rights standards at all times.
