Occupational Therapist (OT) - Acute Care

OT - Acute Care TLC Nursing Associates, Inc. is seeking a skilled and motivated Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our Acute Care team. The OT will evaluate, plan, and implement therapeutic interventions to help patients regain functional independence following illness, surgery, or injury. This role focuses on enhancing daily living skills, mobility, and overall quality of life within a fast‑paced hospital environment. Job Responsibilities Evaluate patients' functional abilities, range of motion, strength, and cognitive status to determine therapy needs. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that promote functional recovery and independence. Provide hands‑on therapeutic interventions to improve strength, coordination, and mobility. Educate patients and families on adaptive equipment, home safety, and techniques to assist with daily living activities. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care. Monitor and document patient progress, outcomes, and treatment effectiveness in the medical record. Prepare patients for discharge by recommending equipment and modifications to facilitate safe transitions. Maintain compliance with safety, infection control, and documentation standards. Qualifications Current Occupational Therapist (OT) license in the applicable state required. Master's or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program required. BLS certification required. Prior experience in acute care, rehabilitation, or hospital settings preferred. Knowledge of rehabilitation principles, patient care standards, and assistive device training. Strong communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment. Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care delivery.
