Registered Nurse In Intensive Care Unit
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS required. TNCC, NIH, ABLS all welcome. Must-Have: Advanced skills needed: Vent management, ABG interpretation, vasoactive drip titration, hemodynamic monitoring.
Description: 29-bed general ICU. Level 2 trauma center. Average years of experience among ICU staff is 12. Patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2, occasionally 1:3 with patients ready to leave ICU. Unit staffing includes one tele and no CNAs. Type of equipment includes Aleris pumps, GE monitors, Edwards EV 1000 and CCO, primaflex CRRT, cardiohelp ECMO. Documentation system is Meditech. Scheduling requirements of three 12-hour shifts a week, every other weekend. Travelers float first to ED and step down. On-call expectations only apply when census drops. Weekend requirement is every other weekend. Procedures performed in the unit include intubations, central line placement, bronchs, bedside tracheostomy, and PEG tube placement. Dress code consists of navy blue scrubs.
