Data Center Manager, Nights - Operations

Salary: $78,300 - 78,300 per year Requirements:

• At least 4 years of IT experience, or a bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or an equivalent field
• At least 2 years of people management experience
• At least 2 years of operations and on-call support experience in data center facilities, mission-critical plants, or production facilities
• Ability to travel to or commute between data center locations as business needs require, including temporarily working at alternative sites during training or before an assigned facility is operational
• For logical access to AWS GovCloud, applicants must be U.S. citizens; GovCloud must be accessed from within the United States
• Preferred: At least 2 years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience
• Preferred: Technical writing experience in a relevant field
• Preferred: A relevant certification, such as A+, Network+, Security+, CCNA, LPIC, Linux+, an AWS certification, or Certified Network Defender
• Preferred: Experience with system management tools and client/server environments

• Lead teams responsible for data center hardware and network diagnostics, physical repairs, and operational support
• Prioritize and assign trouble tickets to data center technicians and operators
• Manage the performance of diverse data center operations teams across locations
• Develop employee career paths and update internal tools
• Recruit and train data technicians to maintain appropriate staffing levels
• Oversee day-to-day data center operations, including queue management, 24/7 shift arrangements, and hardware logistics
• Build or apply subject matter expertise across data center operations
• Track operational KPIs and metrics and ensure targets are met
• Guide improvements in team processes, technology, and automation
• Lead responses to large-scale events and outages
• Improve data center operations workflows and throughput
• Recommend, document, and oversee policies and procedures that support industry best practices and required SLAs
• Coordinate the on-call schedule, including absences and vacations
• Continuously improve the quality and quantity of services and the customer experience
• Participate in an on-call rotation
