Job Summary:
Step Down Unit Registered Nurse (RN) in Omaha, Nebraska. This acute care position involves providing care to adult and pediatric patients with diagnoses such as CVA, TIA, COVID, and others. The role requires adapting to a dynamic team and managing the daily clinical operations on a 55-bed unit with a focus on responsive care and hourly rounding.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM or 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM, with a minimum of 48 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license; American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS); minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in an acute care setting.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with telemetry and electronic medical records (EMR) systems, specifically EPIC; familiarity with specialty equipment like Alaris IV pumps and mechanical lifts.
• Additional Information: The role involves managing a busy, multitasking environment with staffing flexibility to float to medical-surgical areas based on needs. Effective hourly rounding and team collaboration are key to success. Orientation includes passing a skills exam with a score of 90% or higher, and nail policy compliance is mandatory. The unit values staff who can manage daily operations efficiently and support a cohesive team.
