As an Accountant, you'll play a key role in strengthening Hydro-Gear's accounting foundation through accurate financial reporting, ownership of critical general ledger processes, and continuous improvement of the systems that support them.

Core Responsibilities of our Accountant

This role offers the opportunity to influence how accounting operations scale, improve automation, and support leadership decision-making across the organization while working in several capacities and providing support in key areas:

Financial Reporting & General Ledger

• Prepare, analyze, and distribute monthly financial statements
• Lead month-end close activities and key balance sheet reconciliations
• Monitor the general ledger for unusual activity, coding inaccuracies, and posting issues
• Consolidate financial results and provide variance insights to leadership

Fixed Assets & Capital Expenditures

• Maintain fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and supporting documentation
• Record additions, disposals, transfers, and other asset activity
• Support CapEx reporting and analysis while improving asset system reporting capabilities

Payroll & Compliance

• Review payroll journal entries and accruals for accuracy
• Support sales and use tax filings and vendor compliance documentation
• Assist with internal controls, audits, and compliance with accounting standards and company policies

Systems & Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities to automate manual accounting processes
• Improve reporting workflows and system utilization
• Collaborate cross-functionally to enhance accounting tools, documentation, and knowledge transfer

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• Working knowledge of accounting principles
• Strong Excel fundamentals and analytical skills
