Purchase Order Clerk

About the Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented Purchase Order Clerk to join an established aerospace manufacturing operation in Meriden, CT . This role will be responsible for processing and tracking purchase orders, coordinating with suppliers, supporting inventory needs, and maintaining accurate purchasing records.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing, purchasing, procurement, or materials environment and be comfortable working with ERP systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, review, and process purchase orders in an ERP or inventory management system
• Verify quantities, pricing, and delivery dates for purchase orders
• Communicate with suppliers regarding order status and delivery schedules
• Resolve purchase order, invoice, and delivery discrepancies
• Expedite urgent orders when necessary to support production requirements
• Monitor inventory levels and help prevent material shortages
• Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, receipts, invoices, and related documentation
• Generate purchasing and inventory reports as needed
• Coordinate with purchasing, suppliers, inventory, and production teams
• Perform accurate data entry and maintain organized records

Qualifications

• Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, order processing, materials, or manufacturing
• Experience processing purchase orders
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and follow-up abilities
• Comfortable handling multiple orders and deadlines
• Basic math and analytical skills
• Proficiency with ERP systems and data entry
• Epicor experience is preferred
• Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment

Compensation

$25.00 per hour
