To learn more, visit Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Overnight Emergency Veterinarian role based in Litchfield Park, AZ. The veterinarian will provide high-quality emergency and critical care to veterinary patients during overnight shifts, including triage, diagnosis, treatment planning, and stabilization. Daily responsibilities include performing emergency procedures, interpreting diagnostics, communicating clearly with pet families about care options and prognosis, and collaborating closely with support staff and specialty clinicians. The role also involves maintaining accurate medical records, contributing to a positive and inclusive team culture, and supporting the hospital’s commitment to compassionate, evidence-based medicine. Participation in case discussions, continuing education activities, and quality improvement initiatives is encouraged to support ongoing professional development. Qualifications Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent) from an accredited institution and eligibility for licensure in Arizona. Experience or strong interest in emergency and critical care medicine in a small animal hospital setting. Ability to perform emergency diagnostics and procedures, including triage, wound care, fluid therapy, and pain management. Strong clinical judgment, problem-solving skills, and capacity to make decisions under pressure in an overnight environment. Effective, empathetic communication skills for working with pet families and collaborating with veterinary teams. Commitment to evidence-based practice, continuous learning, and participation in ongoing professional development. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and support a respectful, inclusive workplace.
