Low Voltage Outside Sales Representative

Job Type: Contract Remote: Remote Outside Sales Representative The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for generating new revenue by proactively identifying, engaging, and securing new clients while expanding opportunities within existing accounts. This hunter-focused role emphasizes consistent prospecting, relationship development, and the ability to close profitable projects. The position involves selling comprehensive low-voltage systems and services, including structured cabling, security and camera systems, access control, fire alarm systems, audio/video solutions, and intercom technologies. Success in this role requires strong technical aptitude, disciplined sales execution, and the ability to build long-term customer relationships across commercial, industrial, education, healthcare, and government sectors. Compensation for this role is a base salary plus commission structure, with total target earnings ranging from $125,000 to $150,000. Job Responsibilities Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities through outbound prospecting, networking, and relationship building. Conduct virtual presentations, demonstrations, and consultations to assess customer needs and recommend appropriate low-voltage solutions. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers within assigned markets. Prepare, present, and negotiate accurate proposals, estimates, and project scopes. Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact through contract execution. Collaborate with internal teams to support solution design, pricing, and project planning. Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline status, and customer interactions using CRM tools. Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly revenue targets and activity goals. Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive offerings. Job Requirements Minimum of five years of experience in outside sales, business development, or technical solutions selling. Working knowledge of low-voltage systems, including structured cabling, security and camera systems, access control, fire alarm, audio/video, and intercom solutions. Familiarity with industry manufacturers and products such as Belden and Panduit. Strong communication, negotiation, and closing skills. Ability to manage a high-volume prospecting workload and maintain a structured sales pipeline. Proficiency with CRM systems and virtual meeting platforms. Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment. Valid driver’s license for occasional customer visits, if required. Education High school diploma required. Associate or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred. Work Experience At least five years of sales experience involving technical, electrical, security, or low-voltage solutions preferred.
