Position Overview
The FOH Expo is the heartbeat of our front-of-house operations. You are the final gatekeeper between the kitchen and the guest, ensuring every order is fast, flawless, and filled with care. Your job isn't just about moving ticketsit's about managing the flow of energy, catching mistakes before guests do, and making sure every plate reflects Hometown's commitment to excellence.
When things heat up, you stay cool. When a runner hesitates, you direct. And when something's off, you spot it before anyone else does. You are a leader-by-action, a communicator-under-pressure, and a key culture carrier on every shift.
Key Responsibilities
Speed & Efficiency
- Manage the flow of tickets, keeping the expo line running fast and smooth.
- Stay ahead of ticket times, prioritizing and organizing pickups with urgency and control.
- Identify and address missing items, lagging tickets, or kitchen slowdowns before they escalate.
- Sell food confidently to runnersquickly, clearly, and in the right order.
- Balance multiple orders at once without creating bottlenecks.
Quality & Consistency
- Double-check every single ticket before it goes outno missing items, no incorrect names, no avoidable mistakes.
- Pay sharp attention to special requests, allergies, and modifications.
- Prevent unfinished or incorrect plates from leaving the expo.
- Ensure each handoff to runners is clear, correct, and sets the team up to succeed.
Knowledge & Technical Skill
- Know the full menu inside and outingredients, setups, and common pitfalls.
- Monitor ticket times and adjust the flow to keep service on pace.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen, baristas, and the smoothie station to keep all parts of the operation synced.
- Confidently manage online order pickups and prep sequences.
- Handle pressure with poise, maintaining clean execution from open to close.
Sanitation & Cleanliness
- Keep the expo counter, pickup shelves, and runner zone spotless and stocked.
- Organize utensils, stickers, bags, and boxes so runners can move fast.
- Help maintain the front guest areabecause no one wins if the space is cluttered.
- Fully reset and clean the station before clocking out.
Awareness
- Read the room, the line, and the ticketsmonitor everything.
- Catch mistakes before guests do. Track ticket times before they spike.
- Stay tuned in to guests who are waiting and update them proactively.
- Be the person who notices what others don'tand acts on it.

Compensation
- Base hourly wage: $11 - $12 (tip credit wage) plus $9 - $12 in tips per hour. Total hourly compensation typically ranges from $ 20 - $24 with tips.
