Travel Nursing Job Details Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Oncology Registered Nurse Location: Morgantown, West Virginia Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,680–$1,770 Start Date: November 2, 2026 Assignment Length: 13 weeks, with potential for extension Schedule: 3 or 4 shifts per week Shift Duration: 12-hour night shifts, approximately 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m./7:30 a.m. Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Patient Population: Adult and geriatric oncology and medical-surgical patients Typical Assignment: Approximately 5–6 patients Charting System: Cerner electronic medical record (EMR) Orientation: Approximately 12 hours Medical-Surgical Oncology RN Requirements Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in West Virginia or a Compact State; a pending license may be accepted for submission At least 2 years of Registered Nurse experience Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications ONS/ONCC chemotherapy certification and oncology certification preferred Previous inpatient oncology nursing experience preferred but not required Previous Cerner experience preferred Strong IV-start skills and the ability to provide safe, compassionate nursing care in a fast-paced hospital environment Reliable attendance and commitment to the full travel assignment schedule Travel RN Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric oncology and medical-surgical patients Administer medications, blood products, chemotherapy, and supportive therapies according to policy and scope of practice Monitor patients for treatment response, complications, adverse reactions, and changes in condition Perform nursing assessments, initiate and maintain IV access, and care for central lines, ports, PICC lines, and other vascular access devices Support patients experiencing complex oncology-related conditions, including neutropenia, sepsis risk, pain, nausea, and treatment-related side effects Provide post-surgical care, wound care, catheter care, and other medical-surgical nursing interventions as indicated Recognize and communicate abnormal laboratory values and clinical changes to the interdisciplinary care team Educate patients and families about treatments, medications, precautions, and ongoing care needs Document care accurately in Cerner and collaborate with pharmacy, respiratory services, rehabilitation, social services, rapid response, and other support teams Apply now for this Medical-Surgical Oncology travel nursing opportunity in Morgantown, West Virginia.
