Telecommunications Technician

Role Description The Telecommunications Technician role is a full-time, on-site position based in Bedford, IN. In this role, the technician installs, terminates, and tests copper and fiber cabling systems for voice and data communications, following industry standards and project specifications. Daily responsibilities include configuring and maintaining telecommunications equipment, supporting telephony and network systems, and performing routine inspections to ensure system reliability and safety. The technician diagnoses and resolves service issues, supports moves/adds/changes, and documents all work performed in accordance with company procedures. Collaboration with project managers, other technicians, and clients is required to meet project timelines, quality expectations, and customer satisfaction. Qualifications Demonstrated skills in Troubleshooting and fault isolation for telecommunications and cabling issues. Experience working with Telecommunications Systems and Telecommunications infrastructure in commercial or industrial settings. Knowledge of Telephony systems, including installation, configuration, and basic maintenance. Hands-on experience with Cabling, including structured copper and fiber installation, termination, and testing. Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., BICSI, TIA/EIA) and safe work practices. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and project documentation. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or as part of a team. Physical ability to perform field work, including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in varying environments. High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications in telecommunications or cabling are a plus.
