You'll lead with purpose, breaking down barriers to innovation for a more connected, compassionate world.About The RoleAs a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will play a key leadership role in the design and development of cutting-edge medical devices for people with diabetes. You will leverage your deep expertise in analog and digital circuit design, microcontroller system architecture, and advanced power management to help bring innovative solutions to market. This position requires a hands-on engineer who is passionate about quality, patient safety, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve complex technical challenges.Key Responsibilities:Design and optimize lithium-ion battery power management circuits, including PMICs, fuel gauges, protection techniques, and wireless charging circuits compliant with Qi protocolConduct power and energy consumption analysis to ensure efficient device operation and maximize battery lifeDrive PCB design and schematic capture, working closely with PCB layout engineers to ensure best practices for manufacturability, signal integrity, and EMI/EMC complianceLead the design, development, and verification of analog and digital circuits for medical device applications, focusing on reliability and compliance with regulatory standardsDesign microcontroller-based systems and sub-systems, selecting appropriate components and ensuring robust system integrationIntegrate and troubleshoot voltage regulators, RF and BLE communication modules, and advanced lithium-ion battery technologiesCollaborate proactively with systems, embedded software, and mechanical engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical designs within the overall device architectureParticipate in risk analysis, design reviews, and root cause analysis for electrical issuesMentor and guide junior engineers and review their designs for quality and complianceRequired Knowledge and Experience:Requires advanced knowledge of job area combining breadth and depth, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.May have practical knowledge of project management.Requires a Baccalaureate degree (or for degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)( 4)(iii)(A) and minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.Nice to Have:Strong working knowledge of:Analog circuit design and simulationMicrocontroller system architectureLithium-ion battery design techniques including PMICs, fuel gauges, and protection circuits.Wireless charging and Qi protocolPower and energy consumption analysisPCBA schematic capture, layout, fabrication and assemblyExperience with lithium-ion cell development with external vendors including design requirements, specification, prototyping, test, characterization, qualification and productionExperience with voltage regulators, RF and BLE communication, and digital circuit designDemonstrated ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams including systems, embedded software, and mechanical engineeringExcellent communication, documentation, and leadership skillsExperience with FDA, ISO 13485, IEC 60601, or other relevant medical device standardsExperience with low-power design and miniaturized electronicsFamiliarity with IPC-610 and design for manufacturability and test (DFM/DFT).Experience with simulation and modeling tools (e.g., SPICE, Altium Designer, OrCAD)Physical Job RequirementsThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this position, but they are not an exhaustive list of all the required responsibilities and skills of this position.The physical demands described within the Responsibilities section of this job description are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
