Carpenter

Position Title Carpenter ($24-$32/hour) — Reports to Superintendent Position Summary Construct and repair building frameworks and structures made from wood and metal. Installation of millwork carpentry, doors and other specialty items. Essential Functions / Position Responsibilities Ability to follow blueprints and building plans to meet client needs Construct and install structures and fixtures Measure, cut or shape wood, plastic, and other materials Construct building framework, including walls, floors, and doorframes. Help erect, level, and install building framework with the aid of rigging hardware and cranes Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures Ability to work on staging / above ground Taping experience is a plus Willingness to perform non‑carpentry tasks as needed (cleaning, demolition, floor prep, etc.) Maintain cleanliness in occupied spaces Instruct and direct laborers and other construction helpers Work in a safe, OSHA‑approved manner Maintain a positive attitude Provide a good work ethic and effort toward all assigned tasks Willingness to learn new tasks Share knowledge and help train others Demonstrate consistent attendance Communicate and collaborate clearly with the team Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Hiring Requirements / Preferences Minimum of 2 years of commercial carpentry experience Metal & wood framing Drywall Millwork and casework installation Doors, frames, and hardware installation Must be able to travel to job sites as assigned Valid driver’s license Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Proficient at reading blueprints or ability to learn Minimum tools required: tape measure, hammer, utility knife, tool belt, speed square, chalk line, torpedo level and driver index. Company will provide power tools Strong organization skills and dedication to completing projects in a timely manner Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work Experience with computers and technology is a plus OSHA 10 training preferred; will provide if needed Other Duties Working hours are 7:00 am to 3:30 pm; arrive early enough to start work at 7:00 am and be prepared to work until 3:30 pm Overtime may be offered to stay on schedule Must be able to travel to job sites as assigned Physical Requirements Estimate of physical effort: Rarely (15%) – Lifting under 40 lbs. Occasional (15 %–40 %) – Lifting over 40 lbs. Frequent (40 %–70 %) – Dusty environment, using oil or chemicals, standing, climbing ladders, climbing stairs, sedentary work, outdoor work, precision type work, typing, computer input, stooping, driving, walking, answering phone, bending, reaching/pulling/pushing Continuous (Over 70 %) – Various tasks listed above, as needed Additional physical capabilities: Visual acuity far and near (20 ft. and 20 in.)
