Mainframe Developer

Job Description: The Software Development Engineer will serve as a technical leader in our Mainframe Software Engineering Department and play a key role in developing industry‑leading software for our customers. They will be responsible for developing, testing, and supporting complex technical and architectural solutions that support the Digital Banking division payment processing platform. We develop new features for the DPS product strategies and address the market needs of Fiserv clients and their customers in an Agile environment. What You Will Do Work with Solution Architect and scrum team to ensure application code aligns with application architecture. Adhere to platform architecture and best practices. Participate in daily/weekly stand‑ups, code reviews, and QA walkthroughs. Work with scrum team in developing the sprint plan. Complete assigned tasks within the sprint timeline with high quality. Develop a deep understanding of appropriate data & software components including conceptual data models, data flows, entity relationships, specifications, audit controls, exception and error handling, security, etc. Support technical design decisions through validation of technical approaches and prototyping of new concepts. Identify and implement continuous improvements to the development practice. Understand the existing processing architecture and adhere to design and technical solutions for new projects. Coordinate and work with offshore team, as needed, for deliverables which could include peer code review, proper documentation, and installation. Provide 24×7 on‑call support on a rotation assignment. What You Will Need To Have Bachelor’s Degree or a minimum of 5 years of experience demonstrating required skills and competencies. 5+ years of experience designing and developing secure mainframe‑based applications. 5+ years of experience with COBOL, JCL, CICS, MQ, and Db2 for z/OS. Nice to have REXX. Strong client‑facing skills and experience. 3–10 years of experience designing, developing, and implementing software applications and hands‑on experience with large‑scale applications at large institutions. What Would Be Great To Have Experience in Agile Software Development methodologies including Scrum. Can‑do attitude with a delivery focus. Understanding of the Payment Industry and associated products. Knowledge of Test‑Driven Development (TDD). #J-18808-Ljbffr
