Senior Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Specialist

Position Responsibilities Providing safety and health assistance to management, supervisors, employees, and collateral duty safety representatives Conducting incident reports and entering reports and findings into safety management systems Performing safety audits, inspections, and evaluations to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions in accordance with regulatory requirements Providing specialty safety services and assessments addressing requirements that include ergonomics and industrial hygiene Developing and delivering customer training one‑on‑one, in groups, in classrooms, and via web‑delivered media Providing outreach to agency employees, promoting safety awareness throughout the organization Investigating complaints and reports of unsafe or unhealthful working conditions; provide recommendations for abatement action; and verify completion of abatement action Maintaining recordkeeping for injury/illness cases in accordance with OSHA requirements Requirements A bachelor's degree in safety, industrial hygiene, environmental health, health physics, biology, or other safety related field is required Must hold a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification and be in good standing with the issuing accreditation organization Familiarity with OSHA regulations, to include 29 CFR 1910, 29 CFR 1926, 29 CFR 1904, and 29 CFR 1960 One (1) to five (5) years of work experience in occupational safety and health required; experience in Federal government workplaces desirable Strong written and oral communication skills Strong skills with Microsoft Office software and utilization of information systems This position may require up to 25% travel This position requires an active Public Trust clearance The selected qualified candidate must be able to successfully pass a DHS/TSA background investigation and clearance process Benefits Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, STD, LTD, holidays, PTO and 401(k) plan with company match.
