Registered Nurse (RN) Operating Room

Job Description Inova Alexandria Hospital is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN to join our team. Benefits Eligible Nurses will qualify for sign on & relocation bonuses. Work Schedule Full time, Night shift (40hrs per week) with call. We are offering the following shift options: Four/10hr shifts per week (9pm - 7:30am) OR Two/8hr (11pm - 7:30am) & Two/12hr (7pm - 7:30am) shifts per week. Our OR is equipped with 11 OR suites and 4 Endoscopy Suites, providing a comprehensive range of surgical specialties. Operating Room Registered Nurse Responsibilities Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple, sometimes conflicting, data sets and synthesizing their interrelationships. Formulates individualized plans of care based upon assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice. Supports and empowers patients and families as they progress through the healthcare continuum from health promotion to end of life decisions. Advocates for patients' rights from the patient/family perspective and provides counsel and acts as a resource to resolve issues. Anticipates ethical, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients/families and assists staff in assessing patients' learning needs. Operating Room Registered Nurse Requirements Experience: Requires a minimum of 1 year of direct Operating Room (OR) experience as a Registered Nurse. Education: BSN or ADN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate’s Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date. License: Must be licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse. Certification: Basic Life Support with American Heart Association. Preferred Experience & Certification Experience with the following cases: Ortho, Neuro/Spine, Robotics & Trauma Circulating and scrubbing experience AORN's Periop 101 curriculum completion and/or CNOR Inova Health System is an Equal Opportunity employer.
