Physical Therapist - Travel Contract

Looking for a change of scenery and a chance to help others. Join our travel Physical Therapist team where you will help patients recover from injuries and manage chronic conditions while experiencing life in a new location. You will plan and execute rehabilitation programs using therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-education, gait training, manual techniques, and other interventions. Effective communication and strong interpersonal skills are required to motivate patients and provide compassionate care. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program approved by APTA. Active Illinois Physical Therapist license required. Candidates with a permanent address within a 50-mile radius of the facility will not be considered. Minimum 1 years of Physical Therapy experience. Inpatient experience is required. Active American Heart Association BLS (AHA) certification required. Work history and skills checklist current to 1 year, pertinent to Physical Therapy, required. Two supervisory reference forms completed with dates employed listed required. Preferred Qualifications Experience supervising physical therapy assistants. Strong experience administering a wide range of physical therapy techniques. Assignment Details Shift Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (8-hour days). Willingness to work 4x10 schedules as needed. 40 hour guarantee. Weekend requirement: No weekends. Must be willing to assist facility staff as needed and maintain documentation in compliance with facility and payer requirements. Impacting Patient Care Physical Therapists develop individualized Plans of Care based on evaluations, set measurable short- and long-term goals, implement therapeutic interventions, and modify plans according to patient progress. Responsibilities include documenting patient progress, ensuring certifications and authorizations meet payer requirements, maintaining professional competence through continuing education, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to support patient recovery. Location Highlights Effingham, IL offers easy access to outdoor recreation and regional transit corridors. The area is within driving distance of Rend Lake and the Kaskaskia River for boating and fishing, and it is approximately a one- to two-hour drive to Starved Rock State Park for hiking and scenic overlooks. Effingham is situated along major highways providing convenient connections to Springfield and St. Louis and features a small-city environment with local dining, community events, and family-friendly parks.
