WE'RE HIRING: CULINARY WORKER

Location: Henry County Adult Detention Center
Schedule: Full-time | some nights and weekends required
Salary Range: $36,867 - $38,577 DOE
The Henry County Adult Detention Center is seeking a dedicated and reliable Culinary Worker to join our team. This position plays a vital role in preparing and serving meals to detainees while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and dietary regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to scheduled menus and dietary guidelines
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in all food preparation and storage areas
• Follow proper food handling procedures and adhere to health department regulations
• Assist with inventory control, food storage, and stock rotation
• Work cooperatively with kitchen staff, detention officers, and facility administrators
• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment and utensils
• May assist with supervising inmate kitchen workers under officer supervision
• Must be available for rotating shifts, including some nights, weekends, and holidays

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Must have Serve Safe Certification
• Previous experience in institutional or commercial food service preferred
• Ability to follow recipes, portion control, and food safety standards
• Must pass background check and drug screening
• Ability to work in a secure, correctional environment
