Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position in Wichita, KS, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and AHA-certified BLS, ACLS, and PALS.

• Emergency Department setting with a higher volume of behavioral health patients
• Night shift schedule: 19:00–07:30
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active KS or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Required certifications (all AHA): BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• TNCC certification required, renewed every 4 years
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required (Group A updated yearly; Groups B–F updated every 2 years)
• CPI/MOAB High-Risk training: online portion must be completed prior to start; on-site portion completed during orientation
• Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Full SSN and full date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Implements and monitors patient care plans, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate
• Serves as a primary coordinator across disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders
• Assesses and coordinates patient discharge planning needs with the healthcare team
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment
• Ceil blue scrubs required
• Local candidates are accepted but may be subject to a reduced pay rate based on proximity to the facility
