Registered Nurse - Hospice

Location: Rockport, ME

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Every other weekend, On-call rotation overnight.

Job Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) in Hospice is responsible for providing compassionate and patient-centered care to individuals and families facing end-of-life challenges. RNs will manage a case load of 14-18 patients, completing 5-6 visits per day, with a minimum productivity expectation of 25 visits per week. This role requires strong assessment, communication, and clinical skills to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop care plans.
• Manage and administer medication as per protocol.
• Provide education and support to patients and families regarding hospice care.
• Oversee and complete admissions, recertifications, and discharges.
• Participate in on-call shifts as scheduled.
• Utilize in-home infusion pumps and provide required nursing interventions.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 1 year of home health or hospice experience.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred.
• Skills in PICC lines, dressing changes, and wound care preferred.
