Business Litigation Associate AttorneyLocation: San Diego, California (Hybrid)Job Type: Full-TimePractice Area: Business LitigationPosition OverviewA well-established litigation firm in San Diego is seeking a Business Litigation Associate Attorney with 2–6+ years of experience to join its growing practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to gain hands-on litigation experience while representing businesses, corporations, and individuals in a broad range of complex commercial disputes. The ideal candidate will possess strong legal writing and analytical skills, thrive in a collaborative environment, and be comfortable managing cases through all phases of litigation.Key ResponsibilitiesHandle a diverse caseload involving complex business and commercial litigation matters including fraud, breach of contract, fiduciary duty, trade secret, unfair competition, defamation, shareholder and partnership disputes, corporate governance, non-compete agreements, and bankruptcy adversary proceedings.Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and legal memoranda.Conduct legal research and prepare persuasive dispositive motions.Take and defend depositions and prepare witnesses for testimony.Participate in court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations.Manage all aspects of discovery, including document review and production.Collaborate with partners and clients to develop litigation strategy.Maintain direct client communication while managing multiple deadlines and competing priorities.QualificationsJ.D. from an ABA-accredited law school (required).Active membership in the California State Bar and in good standing.2–8+ years of business or commercial litigation experience.Experience handling cases through all phases of litigation.Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.Experience taking or defending depositions is preferred.Trial preparation experience is a plus.Excellent organizational, analytical, and time management skills.Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.BenefitsPerformance-based bonus opportunities.Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.401(k) with firm contribution.Continuing legal education and professional development support.Hybrid work flexibility.Collaborative, team-oriented work environment with excellent mentorship and long-term partnership potential.
