Pediatric Nocturnist

Phoenix, AZ

Our organization is seeking a dedicated full-time pediatric nocturnist who is enthusiastic about both teaching and ensuring high-quality clinical care. The ideal candidate will become part of a team of eight pediatric hospitalists (both full-time and part-time) who are committed to providing medical education and patient care at a public teaching hospital located in Phoenix, AZ. This facility, affiliated with the University of Arizona College of Medicine and Creighton University School of Medicine, offers a range of pediatric services, including:

• A 24-hour Pediatric Emergency Department
• A 10-bed inpatient pediatric unit
• A 6-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
• A busy newborn nursery
• A Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

Deliveries are managed by the NICU service, and pediatric specialty services are provided by both our physicians and independently contracted specialists.

The pediatric hospitalists are responsible for the Inpatient Pediatric Unit, as well as the Couplet Care and Level II Nurseries. Daily rounds are conducted alongside pediatric residents and medical students. Our pediatric residency program, in collaboration with Phoenix Children's Hospital, accepts 34 residents annually, and the pediatric hospitalists also provide instruction to family medicine residents.

Qualifications:

• Board Certified/Board Eligible in Pediatrics is required.
• Board Certification/Eligibility in Pediatric Hospital Medicine is preferred but not mandatory.
• Proficiency in Spanish is preferred but not essential.
