Underwriter or Underwriting Specialist – Multinational Zurich is currently looking for an experienced Underwriter or Underwriting Specialist – Multinational to join our team in the New York office. While this position will be based in New York, you will have the flexibility to work on a hybrid basis, being in the office 3 days a week. You will partner with your manager to set a flexible work schedule that supports you, our customers, and our brokers and agents. As a member of Zurich’s Underwriting Team, you will fully apply and hone your underwriting and marketing skills, underwrite and analyze new and renewal Multinational Casualty accounts, and serve as a market-facing partner for 25% of the time. Responsibilities Underwrite, analyze, and generate new and renewal business. Be market-facing and produce within the Middle Market Multinational division. Administer and monitor underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations, and rating manual rules. Develop and maintain agency and broker relationships in the West Region. Work within broad limits and authorities on highly complex assignments. Underwriter – Multinational (Basic Qualifications) High School Diploma or Equivalent and 1 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area. High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area. Knowledge of the insurance industry and the legal and regulatory environment. Knowledge of underwriting philosophy, techniques, national/local filing regulations, and guidelines. Underwriting Specialist – Multinational (Basic Qualifications) High School Diploma or Equivalent and 3 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area. High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area. Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 1 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area. Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 4 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area. Knowledge of lines of business and the legal and regulatory guidelines. Knowledge of time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business. Experience with Microsoft Office. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree. Multinational experience. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Compensation Compensation is based on role, location, skills, and experience. The combined salary range for this position is $59,900.00 – $124,100.00. For the Underwriter, the range is $59,900.00 – $98,200.00 with a 10% short‑term incentive bonus eligibility. For the Underwriting Specialist, the range is $75,800.00 – $124,100.00 with a 10% short‑term incentive bonus eligibility.
