Job Title: Warehouse Worker Job Description

The main function of a warehouse worker is to receive, store, and issue materials, equipment, and other items from stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Receive and count stock items, and record data manually or using a computer.

• Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards.

• Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock, and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.

• Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.

• Label stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.

• Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.

• Keep records on the use and/or damage of stock or stock handling equipment.

• Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.

• Provide assistance or direction to other stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard workers.

Essential Skills

• Knowledge of relevant equipment.

• Prior warehouse experience preferred – Pick/Pack/Load.

• Knowledge of RF Scanners.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.

• 2-4 years of experience required.

• Previous titles include: Material Handler.

Work Environment

Work in a collaborative and supportive warehouse setting with a shift schedule of Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM. The environment requires adherence to safety protocols and the use of equipment such as RF Scanners.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Old Lyme, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.75 - $18.75/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
