Account Manager / Sales Representative Steel Processing & Distribution

We are seeking an experienced Account Manager / Sales Representative to join the team in the Lordstown, Ohio area. Relocation support is available for the right professional. What You'll Do

• Manage and grow relationships with an established base of customer accounts, serving as the primary point of contact.
• Identify and pursue new customers and profitable business opportunities that strengthen market share.
• Develop a deep understanding of each customer's business, products, and evolving requirements.
• Plan and lead customer visits, sales calls, presentations, and commercial discussions.
• Negotiate pricing, volumes, terms, and other commercial considerations with an eye on sustainable margins.
• Coordinate inventory levels with demand, working closely with purchasing and operations teams.
• Deliver accurate sales forecasts and communicate changing customer and market conditions to leadership.
• Monitor account performance with a focus on profitable, long-term growth.
• Manage company resources and business expenses responsibly.
• Travel to customer locations and other business destinations as needed.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
• Proven experience in account management, outside sales, or business development in a customer-facing role.
• Direct experience with flat-rolled steel or pre-engineered steel buildings.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to balance customer service with profitability and broader business objectives.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Willingness to travel as business needs require.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• Experience within a steel service center, metal processing, distribution, or related manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of pricing dynamics, inventory management, and steel processing capabilities.
• History of selling to OEMs, fabricators, manufacturers, or other industrial customers.
• Strong organizational skills for managing multiple accounts and competing priorities.
