The role of a Guest Advocate can provide you with the skills and experience of:Communicating and interacting with guests to build a welcoming guest experienceBlending problem solving and decision making to positively impact the guest experience and resolve guest concernsAdapting to different guest interactions and situationsPromoting and engaging around various benefits, offerings, and servicesAs a Guest Advocate, no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will most likely include the following responsibilities:Create an easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience by delivering on the following commitments:Greet:10ft: be friendly – smile, make eye contact, or wave4ft: greet the guest, smile, and initiate a warm, helpful interactionHelp guests find what they need and/or resolve issues to ensure a smooth, easy shopping experienceEnd every guest transaction with a sincere thank youActively support team efforts and assist peers in other areas while maintaining a positive and respectful attitudeAdjust to business and guest needs to deliver an easy and inspiring guest experienceDemonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standardMake the guest aware of current promos, store activities, and events. Understand and show guests how to use the features and offerings within the Target App including Wallet.Know and speak to the benefits of Target Loyalty programs with every guest and assist with application, sign-up, and signing in as needed.Scan and bag all guest items efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with food safety standards and company best practices.Work efficiently to minimize guest wait time while maintaining guest service and accuracy.Be familiar with Order Pick-Up, Drive Up, and online ordering, and know how to direct the guest to enroll, activate, and use these features.Attempt every return or exchange and follow register prompts; partner with immediate leaders as needed to help solve issues for the guest while following Target’s policies and procedures.Maintain a clean, clutter-free work area by gathering unpurchased items, baskets, and hangers for removal.Stock supplies during store open hours while being available for the guest.Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.Work in a safe manner at all times; comply with all safety policies, best practices, and training; report hazards and correct where possible.Support guest services such as order pick up (OPU), Drive-up (DU) Orders, DU Returns, and maintain a compliance culture while executing those duties, such as compliance with federal, state, and local adult beverage laws.All other duties based on business needs.This may be the right job for you if:You enjoy interacting and helping others – including guests that shop our store and fellow team members you work with.You thrive in a fast-moving, highly active, and physically demanding role, where teamwork, flexibility, and creative problem solving are key to success.You are open to working a flexible work schedule with varying hours, days, or shifts (including nights, weekends, holidays, and other peak shopping times).The good news is that we have some amazing training that will help teach you everything you need to know to be a Guest Advocate. But, there are a few skills you should have from the get-go:Communicating effectively, including using positive language and attentive to guests’ needsWelcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and other team membersAttention to detail while prioritizing tasksWilling to educate guests and engage around products and servicesAbility to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directedWork both independently and with a teamCapability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframesResolve guest questions quickly on the spotWe are an awesome place to work and care about our teams, so we want to make sure we are clear on a few more basics that we expect:Accurately handle checkout operations, transactions, and support cash office operations as needed.Scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving product up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds without additional assistance from others.Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, and holidays); come to work when scheduled, work scheduled shifts, and take required meal and rest breaks.Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary).Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain job duties including but not limited to Drive-Up, carryout, etc.Certain local ordinances require employees in food-handling roles to provide proof of Hepatitis A vaccination or immunity as a condition of employment.
