Join us to drive positive, lasting change that moves missions and the government forward!Accenture Federal Services is seeking a Data Engineer/Architect to join our team and support our client in Columbia, MD.What You'll Do:Platform Deployment & Management Deploy and configure Open Metadata using Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm chartsManage infrastructure across cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) or on-premises environmentsImplement infrastructure as code using Terraform or similar toolsEnsure high availability, disaster recovery, and system scalabilityData Integration & Connectivity Configure and maintain connectors for diverse data sources including databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server), data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift), BI tools (Tableau, PowerBI), and pipeline orchestrators (Airflow, dbt)Develop custom connectors and integrations using PythonImplement and monitor metadata ingestion workflowsTroubleshoot connectivity and data lineage issuesDatabase & Search Administration Administer MySQL/PostgreSQL metadata store including backup, recovery, and performance tuningManage Elasticsearch for search functionality and optimize query performanceMonitor database health and implement scaling strategiesSecurity & Compliance Configure authentication mechanisms (SSO, OAuth, LDAP/Active Directory)Implement role-based access control (RBAC) and data access policiesEnsure encryption at rest and in transitMaintain compliance with data governance standards and regulationsMonitoring & Operations Set up monitoring using Prometheus, Grafana, and logging toolsTrack system performance, ingestion metrics, and data quality indicatorsRespond to incidents and perform root cause analysisCreate and maintain operational documentation and runbooksCollaboration & Support Partner with data stewards, engineers, and analysts to understand metadata requirementsTrain users on data catalog features and best practicesSupport data governance initiatives and policy implementationParticipate in change management and platform upgradesWhat You'll Need:3 years' experience in DevOps, data engineering, or platform engineering rolesPrior experience with data catalog platforms (e.g.: Open Metadata, Collibra, Alation, etc.)Experience with data governance or metadata management initiativesKnowledge of data warehouse and lake architecturesKnowledge of cloud platforms or Kubernetes (CKA, AWS Solutions Architect, etc.)Experience with Apache Airflow, dbt, or similar data pipeline toolsBonus Points If You Have:Ability to communicate design solutions with development/engineering team and customerClearance:Must have an active TS/SCI level clearance and a willingness to sit for a polygraphAs required by local law, Accenture Federal Services provides reasonable ranges of compensation for hired roles based on labor costs in the states of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia. The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
