This role includes preparing and dispensing medications according to regulations and policies. The incumbent also serves as a resource for healthcare professionals like pharmacists, pharmacy students, and resident trainees. Another major aspect is consulting for Nursing, Medical Staff, and patients on medications, orders, pharmaceutical details, reactions, and complaints or errors. The position might involve care, treatment, or assessment of patients of all ages, from neonates to the elderly. The Pharmacist 3 supervises technicians' tasks and manages daily activities. The role may include specialized duties like serving as the Residency Program Coordinator, entity stewardship, operational support, or managing Investigational Drug Services.Essential Functions of the RoleEnsure patients receive high-quality pharmaceutical care that is safe, effective, and upholds their rights.Compound and mix ingredients as needed, following all policies and procedures. This includes tasks like mixing intravenous and irrigation solutions.Give consultation and education to patients and their caregivers about medication options, including alternative drug therapies.Verify the accuracy, appropriateness, and potential interactions of medications, making adjustments as per approved procedures.Dispense medications and compounds, ensuring adherence to organizational policies and regulatory guidelines.Evaluate prescriber's medication orders in the context of the patient's overall therapeutic requirements.Supervise Pharmacy Technicians in their non-professional duties, ensuring their work aligns with professional standards.Assist with inventory, purchasing, and quality control of medications.
