Staff Assistant

General Dynamics Electric Boat, the nation's premier designer and builder of nuclear submarines, is seeking a Staff Assistant to support the building of the most complex product in the world.

Seeking a qualified candidate to provide daily administrative support to our module outfitting organization. The selected individual will be supporting the 14 Managers of Operations, 2 Senior Managers as well as 35 Area Superintendents and 100 Operations Supervisors in this work center and across multiple shifts.

Qualified applicants must possess a high degree of professionalism, be able to maintain confidentiality with all business and personnel matters and capable of prioritizing and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment. Applicant must be able to support time-critical assignments and be effective in communicating with all levels of management throughout the facility.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Maintaining and updating department key metrics
• Managing the overtime database
• Maintaining calendars of the Managers
• Process CWO's, IT Requests
• Maintaining records on specific qualifications and requirements of the hourly personnel within the department
• Develop, maintain and update various reports as needed
• Generate department memos
• Establish meeting minutes
• Develop business presentations
• Establish weekly agendas for supervisors to ensure they understand their individual performance
• Monitor and maintain overhead account expenditures
• Manage travel
• Other duties as required

This position is located at the Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 5+ years of Administrative Assistant/Secretarial experience
• Experience in office administration
• Strong experience with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Available to work extended hours and weekends as business needs dictate
• Proven experience supporting multiple departments and Managers
