Warehouse Team Leader

The Warehouse Team Leader will lead an assigned team through the daily activities in the warehouse to ensure smooth operations and efficient completion of projects. This role will encourage and delegate as needed to ensure smooth and consistent daily operations so orders can be filled in an effective and efficient manner to satisfy customer and company requirements as well as performing warehouse associate duties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Always maintain the warehouse and the warehouse grounds in accordance with the established Physical Plant and Grounds SOP
• Picks up the trash on the grounds and in parking lot daily.
• Assures the warehouse is properly cleaned daily in accordance with established SOP. This includes having boxes broken down and placed in trash receptacle daily, sweeping the entire warehouse daily, as well as weekly vacuuming under all racks and shelving.
• Ensures products are stored properly and complies with established Company standard operating procedures.
• Handles products in a careful and safe manner; conscious of quality and eliminating damage.
• Receives and processes all defective, returned and refused products in accordance with established Company standard operating procedures.
• Reports defective products or questionable conditions to the Warehouse Supervisor
• Inspects interior of delivery trucks for rodents/ pests or damage to product during shipping
• Monitors loading and unloading of all products into the warehouse area.
• Ensures purchase orders match sales orders.
• Unpacks, examines and transports incoming shipments; records shortages and damaged products; works with the appropriate party to rectify shortages and damages.
• Ensures products are staged for counting and inspection.
• Maintains the inventory on a FIFO basis.
• Performs daily counting of physical inventory in warehouse.
• Operates forklift, pallet jack, hand trucks and other equipment to convey, move or hoist materials.
• Orders adequate shipping materials and supplies as needed.
• Notifies the President when products are about to be out of stock or expiring.
• Verify product count and description matches customer order.
• Prepare customer orders by assembling, packing, protecting and labeling shipment.
• Responsible for creating shipping labels and making arrangements for pickup by the carrier specified on the customer's purchase order, including international shipments; ensure all documentation is in place and forward to client as needed.
• Deliver and pickup. items from the post office as needed.
• Assist with training team members.
• Oversees the daily workflow; oversees scheduling and assignments of the assigned team.
• Responsible for delegating tasks among warehouse associates, and ensuring proper workflow in the warehouse.

Key Requirements:

• 1-3 years in a warehouse and or shipping and receiving environment
• Familiar with Fork lift and pallet jack operations
• Critical thinker with excellent analytical skills and strong problem-solving ability who can manage multiple projects simultaneously and thrives in a fast moving, hands-on environment
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Microsoft Suite proficiency
• Experience with CRM applications
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including writing, speaking and active listening
• High energy level, positive, and enthusiastic
• The employee frequently is required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.

Physical Demands:

This job operates in a warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines and standard warehouse equipment such as light machinery, hand trucks, pallet jack, heat gun, box cutters and tape dispensers.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, type, perform repetitive motions, use hands or fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.

Dress Standards:

Attention should be paid to safety, Company image, and customer interaction. All employees working in the warehouse, including but not limited to any Customer Service back up, will be required to wear closed-toe shoes, long pants and avoid loose fitting or torn clothing that could pose a safety hazard.
