Camp Counselor

A Camp Counselor is responsible for providing exceptional care and supervision for dogs in a safe, clean, and fun camp environment. Camp Counselors play a critical role in ensuring the health, happiness, and well-being of every camper while maintaining Camp Bow Wow's high standards of cleanliness, safety, and customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise and actively monitor dogs in play yards to ensure safe and appropriate group play.

• Recognize and respond to dog body language, behaviors, and interactions to prevent conflicts and maintain a positive camp environment.

• Conduct routine cleaning and sanitization of play yards, cabins, feeding areas, and common spaces.

• Perform daily cleaning tasks including mopping, sweeping, disinfecting surfaces, washing dishes, laundry, waste removal, and maintaining overall facility cleanliness.

• Prepare and serve meals, medications, and special care items according to pet parent instructions.

• Assist with boarding check-ins, check-outs, and daily camper care routines.

• Maintain accurate records regarding camper behavior, feeding, medications, and incidents.

• Follow all Camp Bow Wow safety protocols, operating procedures, and health standards.

• Monitor campers for signs of illness, injury, or stress and promptly communicate concerns to management.

• Assist with enrichment activities, special events, and camper engagement programs.

• Support front-of-house and back-of-house operations as needed to ensure efficient daily camp operations.

• Provide excellent customer service by creating a positive experience for both pet parents and campers.

• Work collaboratively with team members to maintain a safe, welcoming, and fun environment.

Qualifications:

• Passion for working with dogs and commitment to animal welfare.

• Ability to remain active throughout an entire shift, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and cleaning.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

• Previous animal care experience is preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and move throughout the facility for extended periods.

• Comfortable working in indoor and outdoor environments and around dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments.
