Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking experienced Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Hospitalist Physicians for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity in Fort Pierce, Florida , along Florida's Treasure Coast.

This is a substantial Hospital Medicine program supporting a 500+ bed tertiary referral hospital with a Hospital Medicine census exceeding 250 patients. Physicians manage a clinically complex inpatient population while benefiting from established APP support, onsite Critical Care coverage, and extensive specialty resources.

With 7-on / 7-off blocks, both day and night opportunities, no home call, and an indefinite coverage need , this is particularly well suited for Hospitalists looking to establish a consistent, long-term Florida locums schedule.

Schedule & Coverage

Physicians can provide dedicated day or night coverage:

• Days: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM
• Nights: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
• 7-on / 7-off block scheduling
• Onsite coverage only
• No home call
• No isolated coverage dates — current need is ongoing

Orientation includes EMR training and shadow shifts prior to independent coverage.

Hospital Medicine Practice

This is a large, established inpatient program serving a clinically complex and socioeconomically diverse patient population throughout Florida's Treasure Coast.

Current practice metrics include:

• 250+ Hospital Medicine Census
• Approximately 18–22 Patients per Physician
• Approximately 3–5 Admissions per Daytime Rounder
• Approximately 0–1 Consult per Day
• Physician + APP Hospital Medicine Model
• Broad Medical and Surgical Specialty Support

The hospital functions as a regional referral center, providing physicians with exposure to meaningful inpatient pathology while maintaining the infrastructure expected of a large tertiary hospital.

ICU & Critical Care

Hospitalists participate in ICU rounding, but Critical Care is onsite and serves as the primary ICU team .

Candidate Requirements

• MD or DO
• Active, unrestricted Florida Medical License
• Appropriate DEA registration
• Internal Medicine or Family Medicine residency trained
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• Current inpatient Hospital Medicine experience
• No gaps in recent inpatient clinical practice
• Two years of supporting case logs
• Comfortable managing a clinically complex inpatient population
• Able to satisfy all applicable credentialing and privileging requirements

Emergency privileges may be available for appropriately qualified candidates.
